Civil Litigation/Dispute Resolution
What kind of claims are covered in Civil Litigation?
Civil Litigation covers the whole range of disputes which can arise out of dealings with other individuals or companies. It is often referred to these days as Dispute Resolution. We have experience in advising, representing and settling claims in the following areas stemming directly from employment law disputes:
Breach of employment contract claims - e.g wrongful dismissal/constructive dismissal
Actions for breach of restrictive covenants
Disputes over non-payment of bonuses
We can advise on law and procedure. In these types of claim, usually before the High Court, or the County Court, the winner is usually able to recover their costs from the losing party. We can advise you fully on the likely costs of litigation and on the funding options available. We can also advise on the need for insurance.
The courts are now very keen for the parties to mediate and settle their disputes without the need for a trial. We are able to advise you on mediation/alternative dispute resolution and whether it is appropriate in your case.
We are always happy to advise on any of the above issues, which we handle through our sister firm, Dale Langley Solicitors. Please contact Michael Scutt or Dale Langley for further information on 0207 464 8433.
